This is a great opportunity for an IT Desktop Support to join our Client’s successful dealership based in Twickenham. The ideal candidate must have an UK Driving License and live within 10 miles commute.

Job role:

The role of IT Desktop Support is:

  • Support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops and peripherals*
  • Be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading hardware and equipment whilst ensuring optimal workstation performance**
  • Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment**
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including file servers, email servers, application servers and administrative systems*

Key Activities/Duties:

  • Provide desktop support to all end users and staff and be responsible for installing, configuring and supporting local and wide area networks, email and internet systems*
  • To maintain network hardware and software**
  • To be responsible for administrative duties such as daily backup routines, toner stock replenishments, EOD process checks and asset tracking**
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of PC problems for all end users and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed**
  • Assist in preparing, maintaining and upholding procedures for logging, reporting and statistically monitoring PC performance**
  • Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation and removal**
  • Test new platforms and operating systems under controlled conditions**
  • Assist in developing and implementation of long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer projects and hardware needs**
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts and assist in supervising contract-based installations**
  • If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors*
  • Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans

Person Specification:

The role of IT Desktop Support we are looking for someone who has:

  • Good standard of general education
  • IT qualification
  • At least 1 year experience working in an IT environment
  • Full Driving Licence

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £23,000.00 to £28,000.00 /year
