2016 marks a new year of marathon events across the UK and next year two of our technicians will be completing the Brighton Marathon. Neil Lidbury and Conor Wyatt both from Toyota Kingston are running the 26.3 mile course in aid of the Rainbow Trust Foundation, a charity that looks after terminally ill children and their families. The trust supports over 25% of the 6000 families in England who have a child aged 0-18 with a life threatening or terminal illness.
The Brighton Marathon is on Sunday 17th April 2016 and this particular marathon has some really stunning views along the route. Neil and Conor will be running through the city streets before crossing the finishing line on Brighton seafront. The full marathon on Sunday is just one part of the Brighton Marathon Weekend with The Mini Mile Race, the BM10K and the Brighton Marathon Exhibition all taking place across the two days.
Neil and Conor’s training regime has started well, with a strict diet and a 6.5 mile run three to four times a week. The boys are giving up a lot of their spare time and putting themselves through some gruelling training to raise money for this fantastic charity.
We will be sure to keep you updated on their training and lead up to the big event itself in April but in the meantime please take a look at their fundraising page and help them reach their target for the Rainbow Trust Foundation!
