The new, fourth generation RX is due to be on UK roads in the new year and it will be giving customers a greater range of advanced technology features as well as a combination of striking design and superior comfort. In the UK there will be two power-trains to choose from – the full hybrid system with 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine in the RX 450h. Then there is the new Lexus 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol unit in the RX200t. The hybrids will feature E-four all wheel drive, while the RX200t will have front wheel drive format in the S model and an all wheel drive in the higher grade versions.
The S grade is the entry level model. Along with font wheel drive other equipment highlights include dual zone climate control, rear privacy glass, heated front seats, an eight inch display screen with Lexus Navigation, a nine speaker audio system with DAB, reversing camera, LED headlamps, roof rails and dual chrome tipped exhausts.
This specification is matched by the RX450h SE, which starts off the hybrid range. Additional features include auto dimming rear view and door mirros, smooth leather upholstery, eight way power adjustable heated/ventilated front seats and memory settings for the steering wheel, drivers seat and door mirrors.
The RX 200t and RX450h Luxury grade feature all wheel drive, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with memory settings, Lexus Premium Navigation with 12.3 inch display screen and DVD player, 20 inch alloy wheels, power tailgate with ‘no touch’ opening, ‘triple-L’ LED headlights, wireless smartphone charger and auto dimming door mirrors with memory setting.
For those who prefer a sportier look, both versions of the RX are available as F Sport models. In the F Sport range the front spindle grille is given even stronger treatment and there is the addition of F Sport specific features including, front and rear bumpers, F Sport 20 inch alloys and twin F Sport rear exhausts. This continues into the cabin with F Sport front seats and steering wheel, perforated leather upholstery, drilled aluminium pedals and a specific illumination design for the instrument panel and doors. The F Sport benefits from dynamic ride, handling and control features including Adaptive Variable Suspension. F Sport models share equipment specification with Luxury grade plus lowe speed cornering fog lights and sun shades on the rear doors.
The final grade is Premier and is exclusive to the RX450h. It features a host of advanced technology and premium quality features. This includes semi-aniline leather upholstery with 10 way power adjustable front seats. Driver and front passenger seats have memory settings and multi adjustable, power lumbar support for extra comfort. There is also a colour head-up display, 15 speaker Mark Levinson surround audio system, 360-degree view monitor and a heated steering wheel. Sunroof or panoramic roof options are available in this grade.
The RX is available (dependant on grade) in 11 exterior colours, including new Sonic White, Graphite Black and Copper Brown.
The new RX is availble to order now with deliveries being taken in January.
